The Liwa Oasis is a vast area in the Western part of Abu Dhabi, and a safari tour in Liwa will be an enjoyable experience for anyone. The Liwa overnight desert safari tour takes you around the Liwa Oasis. We believe that only an overnight 20-hour desert camping experience can make way for one to witness the beauty and vastness of the Liwa region. The safari usually begins in the afternoon, between 1.30 PM-2 PM, and you’ll return by noon the following day. If you are traveling with your family and friends, you must know that one jeep can accommodate only up to 4 individuals to save enough space for camping materials such as tents and pillows.
After being picked up, you will be driven to Rub Al Khali of Liwa and then navigate the desert for about 3 hours. This drive is exhilarating with all the rolling sand dunes of the desert. Our drivers, who also serve as guides, are well-experienced and will take you on a ride to remember. Camps are set up in the evening, usually happening soon before sunset. This is also a time to witness the beauty of the sky as it changes color when the sun sets over the dunes.
At night you have the opportunity of seeing the starry night sky while being treated to a BBQ dinner—this truly is a magical experience, something worth experiencing! It doesn’t end there. You can also smoke some flavored/scented shisha while you spend the rest of the night under the desert sky. This is an excellent time to relax and unwind or perhaps get some sleep. In the morning, you can watch the beautiful sunrise over the dunes right from your tent. Later in the morning, at around 8 AM, breakfast arrangements are made before packing up to leave for Tal Moreeb Dune, a 300-meter sandhill. This is a famous spot for hill climbing race activities and one of the world’s highest sand dunes. After all the exciting activities, adventure and sightseeing, you will be driven back to Abu Dhabi at your drop-off location.
